The skill and experience of any cosmetic surgeon matter greatly, but so too does their ethos.
Of her ethos, Ms Prousskaia says:
Experience and skill are of course of vital importance, but so too is the surgeon’s ethos and their manner with patients.
You have to feel confident that the surgeon you entrust understands you, why you are seeking surgery and can empathise.
After all, cosmetic surgery is often about so much more than the purely aesthetic. Successful surgery can boost confidence and self esteem, an issue that may have been a cause for concern for years or decades can be rectified.
This can be as true for breast reconstruction as it is for a procedure such as ear pinning.
It is truly wonderful to see the impact in terms of confidence and sense of self.
It is perhaps this level of empathy that persuades many to specifically seek a female cosmetic surgeon. In some instances, they can just understand the impact of a condition or concern better than may be the case for a male counterpart.
Of her ethos, Ms Prousskaia says.
“The one thing that matters most to me when I am with a patient is empathy.
It is only when you are able to identify and understand your patient’s problems that you can begin to help resolve them satisfactorily. A good surgical outcome is not the only thing that matters. Everything that you do and say to a patient has to come from your heart.
I consider myself very lucky to be able to share my passion for what I do and hopefully bring a bit more happiness into my patients’ lives.”
