Patients meet with the tech team prior to the hair loss surgery to discuss the procedure and preparation.
When undergoing hair loss surgery there, the first stage of the process is to have the donor area shaved to provide easy access to your hair follicles.
This can be challenging cosmetically for some clients, but it is an essential part of the process and definitely worth it for the end result!
After administering a local anaesthetic to ensure minimal discomfort, the surgeon will make a circular incision around a hair follicle and remove the whole follicle or unit intact.
The fue hair transplant procedure is a minimally invasive technique that involves extracting individual follicular units and transplanting them to the desired area.
This process will be continued until the required number of follicular units has been removed. The harvested follicles are kept at minus 8 to 10 degrees centigrade until the surgeon is ready to implant them. The surgeon will then make tiny incisions on your scalp into which the harvested follicles are inserted.
After implantation, the transplanted hair may shed temporarily before starting to grow again, and the results are generally permanent.
The process of harvesting and transplantation can take between 6 and 10 hours, depending on how many hair follicles are needed to achieve the desired effect.
It is normal for transplanted hairs to go through a shedding phase before regrowth, with new hair growth typically visible within a few months.
