Delayed breast reconstruction after mastectomy for breast cancer. Breast was rebuilt with tissue from abdomen – DIEP flap. The vessels nourishing the flap were dissected through the muscle which allowed abdominal strength to be preserved. The abdominal scar looks as after cosmetic tummy tuck. Six months down the line the patient had the second stage of her reconstruction. The nipple was rebuilt from the skin of the flap and small volume fat grafting was performed to the upper pole to improve the symmetry. The patient also had the areola tattooed.
“I had my reconstruction in April 2014, followed by Nipple reconstruction and Lipo Filling in Oct 2014. The results from both operations are incredible! The shape of my “new” breast is so clever and nipple also.
I am so pleased and grateful to have had this procedure done. After 2 years without a breast I now feel “whole” again and looking like a woman again. This is all thanks to the skill of Elena who has made the whole process worthwhile. Thank you again Elena & your team”
